Where does the name come from?

As mentioned, working on construction was a hobby of Theo's. But Theo has another hobby. His vintage tractor! Theo once bought the old Oto brand thing in Italy and transported it to the Netherlands. Enjoying it to make hay here and there in the old nostalgic way. Or just touring. Especially at the events his village Geffen organises annually, the nostalgic Roggemaaien and the farmers' market "Effe noar Geffe", the tractor was used. At the farmers' market with old crafts, the tractor was a nice addition together with the rye mowers (of which Theo and Irma were members). Since the tractor was owned, the rye was now largely mowed with the mower-binder.

When the decision was made to emigrate to Italy, a lot of stuff got rid of. Because, gosh, what a lot a person collects! The old Oto was allowed to stay. It was put back on transport to return to its country of origin.

Oto Melare C25(its name in full) is Made in Italy, in La Spezia to be precise.

The tractor has been given a nice spot in the yard at our Casale. Ask Theo if he wants to start the thing. He's happy to do it. And just watch it! Just the sound the old classic car produces puts a smile on Theo's face.
