An unforgettable E-bike tour through the Gola del Furlo
Starting point and first climb
It was a beautiful, sunny day - ideal for undertaking this active tour. Recently, we took our family on an E-bike tour of the Gola del Furlo, starting in the village of Furlo.
We cycle some 7 kilometres uphill, which thanks to the high-quality E-bikes of Marche & Bike was very doable.
Our E-bikes are ready to start.
Panoramic point & view
Upstairs, we got off at La Terrazza del Furlo and ran about 10 minutes to the viewpoint. There, we were rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the Gola del Furlo gorge, deep below us.
The impressive nature is traversed by the Via Flaminia, an ancient Roman road that runs right through the gorge and gives the area a special historical touch.
We even saw two large eagles circling above us. In spring they had young; at this panoramic point there is a big game camera aimed at the nest on the opposite rock face, which is of course empty now (October).

Continued route & nature
After the panorama point, we got back on our bikes. The road climbs further uphill, past the tree line, and offers from there stunning views from Urbino to Fossombrone.
On the slopes ran white wild horses, and behind fences we saw cows with bells, a typical image of this beautiful hilly region.
Museum of Gola del Furlo
At the end of our tour, we visited the museum of Gola del Furlo, which gives an overview of the animals living in the nature reserve.
You can see stuffed deer and wolves, and several stuffed birds including birds of prey. It is a absolute mustto complete your visit to this nature reserve.
Tip: Plan about 30-60 minutes for the museum visit.
