Yes, there is. Bed & Breakfast Casale di Oto in Senigallia is a small luxury B&B in Le Marche with Dutch owners: Theo and Irma Bijveld-van Dinther. They swapped the Netherlands for an old farmhouse in the hills of the province of Ancona, converted it into five Farm Suites and run the B&B themselves. You check in in Dutch, have breakfast with Italian produce and swim in a private pool of 12 by 4 metres with views of the Adriatic Sea.
Why stay with Dutch hosts in Italy?
- Hosts who speak your language: Theo and Irma speak Dutch, English, German and Italian, so you can arrange booking, arrival, house rules and tips in your own language.
- Tips you can trust: Theo and Irma live here and know which restaurants, markets, beaches and villages are worth it and which are not.
- Personal and small-scale: five suites and two hosts, no reception desk.
- Dutch-Italian hospitality: in their reviews, guests mention the generous breakfast, the warm Brabant hospitality and the evenings Theo and Irma organise.
- Our own activities: pizza night, cauldron cooking, a farm picnic and an outdoor cinema on the grounds. See Events.
The story behind Casale di Oto
Casale means farmhouse in Italian. The old stables and workrooms on the ground floor have been converted into five charming suites on the first floor, reached via the characteristic outside staircase. Downstairs are the private quarters, the kitchen, the Sala da Pranzo and the wine cellar La Cantina, where the old wine barrels are still in place. The whole story of leaving the Netherlands and the renovation can be found on Our story.
