Everything you need to know about renting beach beds in Senigallia(Italy)

To the beach

How to rent a beach bed in Senigallia?

If you go to Senigallia beach for a day, you don't start by just picking a bed. In Italy, things work a little differently. Here, you first report to the bagnino, the beach manager. This is the person who tells you which spots are still available at that time.

The bagnino, usually found in a small booth, counter or desk at the beginning of the beach, will assign you a bed and umbrella - usually neatly by number. That way, you can be sure your spot is really available and avoid surprises.

Note: empty beds are not always free

Even if you see empty sunbeds, that does not mean you can just lie there. Many beds are already reserved, for instance by hotels or regular guests (locals) who rent a spot for the whole season. Those spots remain empty until the tenants arrive - and that may be later in the day.

General tips & facts

  • Price: Count on about €25 per day for two beds and a parasol.

  • Facilities included: At most lidos you can use the showers, changing rooms, toilets and often Wi-Fi and a playground for children.

  • Book in advance: In high season (July and August), it is smart to book your beach bed in advance - especially if you want a front-row spot by the sea.

  • Time: Coming only in the afternoon? Then ask about a half-day rate, which is often possible.

  • Any lido is different: Some have a quiet atmosphere, while others are lively with a bar, music and sports activities. Feel free to ask us for tips, we know the best places!

Mascalzone

Our favourite beach clubs in Senigallia

From Casale di Oto, we love spending time on the beach ourselves - and of course we have a few favourites that we heartily recommend:

  • Mascalzone Bagni 69(www.mascalzonesenigallia.it)
An accessible and cosy beach club with fine facilities. Mascalzone is ideal for both couples and families - and we happily recommend this place for its relaxed atmosphere and good service.
  • Oggi Beach Bagni 84 (www.oggibeach.it)
For those who like a more chic, well-kept atmosphere but still seek tranquillity, Oggi Beach is an excellent choice. It is stylish, well organised and yet not massive. Perfect for a relaxing day by the sea.

  • La Bilancia Bagni 147 (www.ristorantelabilancia.com)
On the outskirts of Senigallia you will find La Bilancia, a smaller-scale beach club where it is never really crowded. Quiet, friendly and with one of our favourite restaurants right on the beach. We like to eat here

  • People Senigallia. ( We like to come here when we want to have a drink on the beach. It is a stylish and lively beach bar near the Iconic La Rotonda. Ideal for a relaxing drink overlooking the sea. Especially during sunset or just later in the evening.
